The Senior Girls Soccer team travelled to SMUS in Victoria for the ISA Championships on the Regatta weekend and game back with a bronze medal. The team started with a tough match against defending champs, GNS, and although we lost 3-1, it was a very good game with keeper Kendra S making some outstanding saves. The second match of the day was fairly one sided with BCS scoring 5 and Queen Margarets unable to capitalize. Credit to Queen Margarets for the enthusiasm they showed playing for each other.

The early match of the second day was a balanced affair against York from Vancouver that saw BCS having to dig deep to sustain pressure against a very good side. Brentwood kept to their game plan and was rewarded with a 3-1 win giving us second place in the pool. The final match featured a contest for the bronze against perennial rivals Shawnigan Lake. BCS had numerous chances, playing some good football, and would have won rather handily if not for the superb goaltending afforded by the SLS keeper. In the end, our 3-1 win gave us the bronze.

It was a fine tournament that gave players some excellent, high caliber matches. With a few senior players unavailable due to Regatta responsibilities, Karly D & Karlein L from the juniors stepped in and added their talents to the squad. Their contributions were much appreciated. With 8 different players scoring 12 goals over 4 matches the coaches were happy with the attacking football displayed by the team.
