Ice Hockey: Seniors start the season with a positive result
The senior hockey team played its first game of the 2008-2009 season with a convincing (10-3) win over Shawnigan Lake School. After a very brief pre-season (two practices), the seniors hit the ice in top gear and never let up over the three periods. Playing four lines, the team used their speed as a devastating tool to disrupt the opposition's play. All four lines were involved in the scoring: Wam Huis in ’t Veld with three goals, Gavin Stephen (2), Alex Buss (2), and singles by Landon Douglas, Garrett Hanson, and Danielle Robb. This was a good win and a solid foundation to build on for the rest of the season.
The first game for the junior team will be Friday against Queen of Angels School. Both teams will also be in action next Tuesday with the seniors playing Chemainus Secondary School and the juniors taking on Shawnigan Lake School.
