On November 22nd four teams of Brentwood students from multiple houses took part in Brentwood’s first ever Ice Bowl Flag Football Tournament. The event was hosted by Brentwood’s finest: Mr TCH (Toby Collis Handford).

Each team had its own name and consisted of some very talented and athletic individuals. The contest started with Cannon’s Cannons vs Tommy and The Tank Engines. The game was close with Cannon’s Cannons securing the game by one point. Next up was Alice in Touchdownland vs Oliver Beckham-Junior. The winner of this game was Oliver Beckham-Junior who then advanced to play Cannon’s Cannons in the final of the Ice Bowl.

Will P, Whittall ‘22 said: “Losing to the Grade 9s didn’t really phase me; I am one of the fastest guys out there so I had to give the little guys a chance. A lot of those kids look at me like I’m the next Tom Brady. Giving them hope and keeping a positive attitude helps the growth of our young Brentonians.”

The Ice Bowl was the perfect COVID-friendly Sunday activity that the community needed. Another student, Max S, Rogers ‘22 says “I was on Cannon’s Cannons for one reason and one reason only: that reason was to win. Also, Sajeev was on the team which was an added plus.”

The crowned champions of the Ice Bowl were Cannon’s Cannons which consisted of Cannon F, Rogers ‘22, Sajeev S, Whittall ‘22, Tyrone O, Ellis ‘21, Nathan O, Privett ‘22, Ifeanyi A, Whittall ‘22, Cooper J, Rogers ‘22, Max S, Rogers ‘22, and Alec D, Whittall ‘22. Brentwood’s first annual Ice Bowl went extremely well and it's only going to get better. The event wouldn't have been possible without the legendary, and mustachioed, Mr Toby Collis Handford.
