Hope & Privett Bowling

Tuesday, November 19, 2019 - By: Ben H, Privett ‘21

On Saturday, the 9th of November, after the last Parent Teacher meetings for the first term took place, Privett & Hope Houses met for a bowling evening in Duncan. The students of the two houses left the Brentwood campus at around 9:30 pm and made their way to Duncan Lanes where they spent the next two hours knocking down pins - or not.

The two houses, Privett and Hope, are sibling houses. In addition to activities that the two houses have together in the school year, they also compete together against the other houses in the Interhouse competitions.

We were previously divided into randomly selected groups to make sure that we also had the chance to meet new people. The focus was not on winning, but on having fun. It was a very good opportunity to meet new people.

“The Bowling event was, in my eyes, a very good event. I met a lot of new girls from our sister house and had a lot of fun” said Chris S, Privett ‘21 reflecting on last Saturday night.

Although they were still at school for dinner, the students were provided with food, including popcorn and drinks. We returned around 12 p.m. and enjoyed a sleep in on Sunday, after finishing our eventful Saturday.

It was a very well-organized event, where obviously all students of the two houses had their fun. It was also a very good time to set up this event because the students had another big event together before the very busy last weeks of the first term.

Thanks to the house staff who supported this event by staying up late and accompanying us on this fun-filled evening.
