Happy Waste Reduction Week! I know, I know, you’re all probably having a hard time containing your excitement but don’t worry, the BEAT has some pretty cool stuff planned ahead.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Good Green Deeds, it consists of sending me a picture of you doing some act of kindness or service, specifically environmentally geared. A couple of lucky winners every month will earn themselves a treat, usually in the form of a McNeill’s or Thrifty's gift card.

So what are you waiting for? Get those Good Green Deeds coming in!

This week, you will be receiving boxes in each of your houses, which will be for our annual warm clothing drive. More information will be sent out, so make sure to keep an eye out for that! And if you have any questions, please feel free to ask your BEAT reps - who have really big signs on their doors - or me!

Finally, as a way to celebrate this Super Special Awareness Week, the BEAT is hosting an activity tomorrow, from 6-7 in McNeill’s, where we will be making reusable tote bags and masks from shirts and socks. If you don’t have a spare shirt or sock to use, we will have a limited amount available there, so don’t worry! There will be snacks and a movie playing, so please feel free to come on over :)

Lastly, I just wanted to thank everyone for your enthusiasm with waste streaming. Earlier today, I had the privilege of sitting down with the Grade 8s and discussing why it’s important to sort waste, and it makes me really happy to see you eager to learn something new. Your effort definitely doesn’t go unnoticed.

Have an awesome week, Brentwood!
