Hello to the Higgs

Tuesday, February 19, 2013 -

On Monday morning the Lecture Theatre was bursting with four classes of Brentwood science students. Heather Russell, who is currently working on her PhD in particle physics at the University of Washington, was speaking on her area of expertise.

During her concise and interesting presentation, she spoke about particle physics and introduced the Higgs Boson. The presentation consisted of lots of information presented in creative and engaging ways.  Many students found the information really valuable since the Higgs Boson was more of a ‘heard of concept’ than an understood one for most of us.

Many thanks to Ms. Russell for taking time out of her busy schedule to speak at Brentwood and to Mr. Bryant for organizing this opportunity.
