Have No Fear, “Pan” is Near!

12 April 2011

After months of anticipation, citizens of the Cowichan Valley can rest knowing that “Pan” is near. Brentwood’s own Mrs. Susan Quinton has taken on the laborious but enjoyable task of directing the school’s annual senior acting production and they are now in final rehearsal.
The two Whittall House roommates featured in the above picture never fight unless they are in rehearsal. Anthony S (Hook) and Joel W (Pan) have been battling since October, learning stage fighting techniques, memorizing lines and developing their adversarial relationship. They are now ready, using trampolines, roller skates and a pirate ship, to tell the classic tale of Peter Pan, the boy who refused to grow up. It is sure to engage audiences young and old.
The company of 24 actors also includes mermaids, pirates, Amazon warriors, the Darling family, and their beloved dog, Nana. We present the play five times in the T. Gil Bunch Centre next week. There will be three evening performances, April 18-20 at 7:30pm, and two morning performances for children from neighbouring schools. Tickets are $10.00. Many long hours have gone into creating the magical re-enactment and Brentwood hopes to see you there! Call the box office at 250-743-8756 or contact Lorraine Blake at tgb.brentwood.bc.ca to reserve your seat.
