Girls Win Provincial Silver
Last week the girls' rugby team went to Vancouver to compete in the BC High School Rugby Tournament. Competing at the AA level, they beat Sentinel 47-0 and Robert Bateman 10-5 to reach the final where
they lost to a fine Abbotsford side.
Magnificently led by seniors Meghan G, Emma F, Nicki S and Tyler C, the team rose to the challenge of playing at the highest level. With only 18 players, there was little rest to be had and the grade 9's and 10's did their share of tackling, rucking, and scoring over the course of the 3 matches. Congratulations also to Tyler C for being named to the Commissioner’s XV.
The coaches were delighted with the grit show by each athlete and were grateful to the many parents who came to cheer on their daughters. It was a very special Brentwood rugby experience for us all!
