Girls' Soccer Falls on Penalties

Saturday, April 22, 2017 - By: Virginia W, Mackenzie ‘18

On Thursday the Senior Girls Soccer team traveled to UVIC for their opening game of the Vikes Nike Classic Tournament.

The girls headed out with a strong positive attitude which kept the game at a tie of 0-0. After the final whistle was blown, five of the girls took their best shot at a penalty shootout. "The shootout wasn't a good representation of how the game went as we fought really hard with many shots on net. It was just bad luck" said Captain Vanessa C, Allard ‘17. Goalie Taylor C, Allard ‘17 kept the squad in the game with some great saves between the posts, but a tough loss in the shootout ended the game.

The girls have several games to play over the next few days including finishing the tournament and playing a league game next week.
