Girls' Senior Basketball off to Solid Start

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 -

Brentwood's Sr. Girls Basketball team played their first tournament this past weekend at Mark Isfeld in Courtenay. With only a few practices under their belt, the girls lost a tough first game to AAA Vanier. It was a close game until we got into foul trouble at the start of the third quarter. Madlen A was game MVP.

The girls next faced the home team, Mark Isfeld. The teams were back and forth until the 3rd quarter when Isfeld pulled ahead by about 10 points. The girls made a comeback with Madlen hitting a 3 point shot with under a minute to go, but we ended up losing by three points. Spencer M was game MVP. In the final game of the tournament, we defeated Highlands.

In league action on Tuesday, the team defeated Kwalikum 49-42 and will face Shawnigan at home in a Showcase Game this Thursday, January 13th. Tipoff is at 6:30 pm. See you in the bleachers!
