Getting Older Every Day
Friday the 18th of September was a special day to remember for Brentwood’s Grad Class of 2021 as we celebrated our first official Grad event of the year, Kindergarten Day. Sporting bright colors and mismatched socks, the grads were able to take a trip down memory lane and reflect on how much each of us have achieved since our first day of school. Amongst our best dressed, Adrienne R, Hope ‘21 explained that “Paying homage to my younger self was exciting, and since it is my last year of high school, it felt like a full circle moment.”
Kindergarten Day, organized by the Grad Council, was a wonderful first event that brought the entire Grad Class of ‘21 together - even if we didn’t look the most put together - and added a fun flare to the beginning of our last year at Brentwood. Grad Sponsor Ms Stevens remarked that she is incredibly proud of the Grad Council President, Jocelyn P, Alex ‘21, and all of the Grad Council’s House Representatives: “They made it happen!”. Ms Stevens additionally highlighted that “Even when separated by responsible social distancing,164 graduating students were united in their excitement to give back to their community and enjoy their final year at Brentwood.” She, along with the rest of the community, is extremely excited for this year’s coming events.
As one of the youthful faces behind this day, Jocelyn echoed the sentiments of our returning students: “It was great to see everyone all dressed up, especially after being away from each other for so long.” Not only was Kindergarten Day an amusing way to unite the Grad class, it packed an even greater punch this year by reuniting friends who have been missed over the past six months and it gave us the opportunity to return to the campus where many of us have spent years learning, and where we will soon have to say goodbye.
While looking forward to the exciting opportunities of the upcoming year, Brentwood’s Grad Class of 2021 will always fondly remember our past.
