For all those who have considered law school, Brentwood is pleased to offer a first-year lecture at 7:30 p.m. on April 7th. Dr. Benjamin Berger will be discussing the highly contested Section 8 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms--the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure. Aspects of this presentation will introduce the audience to the way the Charter works, the basic law of privacy as-against the state, and some contemporary issues in search and seizure law.
Dr. Berger teaches criminal law, evidence, law and religion, and civil liberties and the Charter at the University of Victoria. He has been the recipient of both the Master Teacher Award and the First Year Class Teaching Award.
