First XI Scores Home Win

15 April 2011
Jill Fougner
Coming off of a strong showing at the prestigious Investor’s Cup Tournament in Campbell River last weekend, the First XI Girls’ soccer team was anxious to get back to league play. Tuesday’s game saw the squad take on an always competitive and tenacious Ladysmith team. Our girls were determined to get off to a strong start and did not disappoint, quickly jumping out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Katie C and Natalie C.

Ladysmith started to apply a bit of pressure towards the end of the first half, but Brentwood was able to hold them off with some strong defensive play from Christina H and Sophie G.  The second half saw Brentwood dictate the flow of the game with Mairi H setting up numerous scoring chances. The final whistle saw a 4-0 victory for Brentwood.  Up next for the First XI is a home game on Tuesday, April 19 against Cowichan. Jill Fougner, Coach
