Final Exams in Progress
If you were to visit Brentwood after 9 a.m. during the past five days, you would find every one of our students writing final examinations in the gymnasium, auditorium, library, and various classrooms. The culmination of this year's academic efforts is found in two-hour examinations with an extra discretionary hour if requested.
Approximately 75% of our students write provincial exams set by British Columbia's Ministry of Education. Grade 10 students are required to write math, science, and English exams; Grade 11s challenge a social studies exam; and Grade 12s end their high school career with an English exam. Provincial exam results will be available online as of July 31st. These results can be accessed using the student's PEN number provided on the final report card. Students who do not write provincial exams are required to take Brentwood's internal equivalents.
The incentive for all this hard study? Graduation, acceptance into university, and the possibility of scholarships. Final exams are finished on Wednesday, June 24th.
