EPIC Team Trip to Vancouver

Wednesday, June 07, 2017 - By: Julius C, Whittall ‘19

On the May 27th the EPIC Soccer team led by Mr Barrett travelled to Vancouver to play a game against another soccer academy. Unfortunately our EPIC Team with Brentonians Bilel M, Privett ‘19, Sebastian C, Rogers ‘20 and Julius C, Whittall ‘19 lost its game, but after the game we travelled to BC Place stadium to watch the Vancouver Whitecaps play against DC United.

The Whitecaps went into the game as the clear favourite, but lost the game through a penalty. The penalty for DC United was a poor decision by the referee because the player made an obvious dive in the Whitecaps’ box. “Although both the EPIC and the Whitecaps teams lost, it was still a very fun trip” said Bilel.

Mr Barrett doesn’t only run the Senior Girls and Boys Soccer teams and the EPIC academy, he also runs a kids program in which he teaches soccer to young children from the Cowichan Valley including a good half dozen children of Brentwood staff: the future of Brentwood soccer!
