Easter Bunny Visits Brentwood!

Brentwood was hopping with excitement as Easter Weekend approached. Not only was campus bustling with activity as the long weekend neared, but also this break marked the terrific third term being in full swing and the arrival of warmer weather on campus.

The SAC (Student Activities Council) works hard to plan activities for Brentwood Students that are fun, engaging, and competitive. In the spirit of the Easter Holiday, the Easter bunny hopped onto campus, leaving a plethora of eggs in his wake. Waking up to an email announcing the arrival of the Easter bunny, students set out early to collect as many eggs as they could in order to receive Interhouse points along with a special chocolate surprise inside.

The competition was fierce and the whole campus, except for the Ross Building which is under construction, was an eligible hiding place. Students swarmed campus on the hunt for the plastic eggs.

As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm. This was indeed the case as most of the eggs were gone before the end of the first block. Many students, like myself, ended up empty handed on this epic Easter egg hunt.

This activity took place on Wednesday, the day before students got let out for a long weekend. Given the short timeline of the break, many students stayed nearby in Vancouver or Victoria or with day student friends in the Cowichan Valley. Kiara J, Alex ‘23 hosted friends at her house over the weekend and remarked that, “Easter Break was a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family. As a day student, I often find myself in other people’s rooms, so it is nice to be able to return the favor by having people stay at my house and provide the comfort of a home.”

After the fun activities and short break, the third term is in full swing. Even as the weather gets warmer and the school year draws to a close, there are many more fun activities to come, such as Privett, Ellis, and Alex Open Houses and more fierce Interhouse competitions to determine this year's Interhouse winners. Ms Ramsay, Staff Sponsor of SAC comments that “Third term is going by quickly, Before you know it, it will be time for the Spring Fair and not long after that, the final event of the year, Interhouse Track and Field, so spend time with the people you love and do things that make you proud.”

A big shout out to the SAC and all of the other students and faculty who are responsible for making this school year as enjoyable as possible with a variety of different activities. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication!
