Dr Robert Dalton presentation, October 16th
On Friday October 16th at 7.30pm there will be a presentation in the lecture theatre entitled "Belling the Cat: The Artful Subversion of Advertising" by Dr. Robert Dalton, Associate Professor at UVIC's Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
Synopsis: "Advertisers pride themselves in knowing consumers better than we know ourselves. Perhaps this is why we accept so much advertising uncritically. This presentation looks at the work of artists within the industry who have used humour to subvert advertising, exposing its methods and assumptions."
