Dancing in Victoria

2 May 2017

Taking a break from the studio this past Tuesday, the Brentwood Dance program attended the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival, a showcase of high school dance programs in the region. We performed three pieces at the University of Victoria’s Farquar Auditorium. Receiving adjudications from renowned experts, the Junior, Intermediate, and Advanced dancers enveloped the stage. “Down by the River” (Junior), “Long Way From Home” (Intermediate), and “The Great Dictator” (Advanced) all received valuable recommendation in addition to commendation for the dancers’ “fluidity and passion”. The festival was a great opportunity for the dancers to perform on stage and get together in preparation for this year’s Evening of Dance, “Lights, Camera, Dance”. The dedication of all the Brentwood dancers is steadfast as we approach the May performances; we are eager to share our dancing with you! We hope to see all of you at the Evening of Dance, May 10th, 11th (student performances) and May 12th (open to the public). Julia S, Alex ‘18, Co-Captain of Dance
