After another season of hard work by the Brentwood Dance team, one of the biggest shows of the year kicked off on May 11, 2016. It was the first night of the Evening of Dance: obviously the dancers were nervous. But each night had a great turnout which filled the orchestra of the Killy Theatre. It was thoroughly engaging to watch the hard-working dancers move swiftly around the stage solo, in duets, and in groups of up to twenty. And then there were the three brave boys who were involved in multiple dances and who added some great energy to the evening. Mide O, Privett ‘18, veteran Brentwood dancer and #8 of the Junior Boys Rugby team, enthused, “It was fun to celebrate such marvelous art - we have great dance instructors - with the best dancers Brentwood has to offer.” The dances were constructed very well - many were choreographed by students - and went very smoothly. This ensured that we kept our main focus on the dancers while also realizing the fantastic work of the theatre production group who operated the lights and music, the ushers who greeted the guests kindly and offered them programs, and even the stage manager who kept the show on schedule.  Well done to all of the brave and talented dancers who worked their hearts out to make this show possible and to their instructor, Ms. Blake, for nurturing dancers junior and senior, boy and girl, novice and elite, to such a terrific performance.   James S, Privett ‘18
