Cowichan Opens the BC 2018 Summer Games The BC Summer Games celebrated its opening ceremonies last night in the beautiful evening sun of the Cowichan Valley. 3000 athletes from across British Columbia begin three days of competition this morning. Members of the Brentwood family are contributing to this celebrations of sport and inclusivity in myriad ways. Opening the evening was Connor LL, ‘20 and his dance troupe. Brentwood students competing include Dylan G, Ella B and Miranda NP ‘23 (basketball), Jocelyn L, ‘21 (soccer), Ben R &  Keaton H ‘20 (track), & Jesse H (rowing). Student volunteers include Hugh R ‘20, Jack NG ‘21 & Jensa NG, ‘23.  Team Vancouver Island coaches include Connor McGuigan (rowing), Jillian Napier & Blake Gage (basketball) & the father-daughter team of Tyler & Madison Heisterman ‘18 (track). Helping organize and run the games are Brentwood parents including Vice President Mona Keiser, Director of Marketing Cal Kaiser, Triathlon Director Sarah Malerby and volunteers Berle Zwaan & Sharon Hall. If you’re heading onto campus this weekend, beware. Brentwood will be hosting the triatlon - lithe young athletes will be swimming, cycling, and running hither and yon. Let the Games begin!
