This September we are pleased to welcome Kevin Lawrence to our teaching faculty. Kevin has over fifteen years of experience as a business owner and as a manager in the software development industry. He has a Bachelor of Engineering Physics from Royal Military College Kingston and served as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering officer in the Canadian Forces. Kevin also has an MBA from the University of Alberta; his academic and professional background is reflected in his desire to teach Computer Science courses from both business and technical perspectives. This year, Kevin is teaching Computer Science 11AP to sixteen students in Grades 10, 11, and 12. In order to cater to student interest, two Grade 12 students are doing this course as an extra elective. The main focus of the course is introductory Java programming as preparation for the AP exam. For most of the students, this course is their first exposure to software development. Kevin also plans to introduce elements of software analysis and design into the course.
