Throughout Brentwood’s winter term, many sport activities are offered with the majority of students taking part in their favorite kind of athletic activity. Among the most notable of these offerings are basketball, ice hockey, and soccer. These three host the majority of the school’s students. This year I chose to take part in soccer like lots of other students - girls and boys - and the amount of fun had by all has been unbelievable!

Second Term Soccer is run by Mr Barrett, Mr Collis, and Mr Collis Hanford who all have tons of experience with the game and how to make it enjoyable for everyone. Coach Barrett says “Term 2 Soccer at Brentwood gives students of all skill levels the unique opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills of this great game in a fun and enjoyable environment.”

Fabian H, Whittall ‘22, an avid soccer player, says that “It is great to see soccer offered as a school sport year round despite the weather not always being ideal.  Brentwood’s program allows students like me the ability to take their game to another level each and every week.

Another great thing about the soccer program is ‘If the grass is showing, Soccer is going!’ Even if the conditions are the worst possible, the coaches and students involved still find a way to have a great time. Not a single training session has been cancelled yet this term and everyone's fingers are crossed that will remain the same.

This year's Winter soccer program has seen a record number of students participate, even some who are already engaged in another sport. The weather has been outstanding which is the least Mother Nature could give us after the year we’ve endured. Both the coaches and players are excited for the final month of soccer and what it has in store!
