Christmas Spirit on Campus

10 December 2013
Brynn A
As Calvin Coolidge once said, “Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” On Sunday December 8th, Brentwood’s Student Activities Committee organized their annual Staff Children’s Christmas party. Starting at 2 p.m., many of the staff children gathered in the McNeill Center to celebrate the holidays with Christmas games, snacks, songs, a terrific performance of “Little Red Riding Hood” by the Acting students, and a visit from Santa Claus. Brentwood shared its spirit of giving and goodwill this holiday season. Although Christmas is a time of peace, the buzzing of the holiday party showed this wasn’t exactly the case for the party’s festivities, but the joy of the children’s faces made up for the lack of serenity. Thank you so much to all of the Brentwood students who dedicated hours to decorate, host activities for the kids, and set up crafts for the younger children. Special thanks also to Lindsay BE, Alex ’14 for taking charge of the whole party and creating a very festive event for the children and to Mrs. Quinton, Mrs. Patel, Mr. Lawrence and Mr. Snow for their generous efforts. Happy Holidays! Brynn A, Hope ’15
