Choirs Sing for Special Needs

23 April 2009

This past Sunday, Brentwood College School once again hosted the sixteenth annual “Choirs in Concert” charity fundraiser.  This concert is about helping special needs students and adults in our local community. Six diverse, but highly entertaining, choirs performed in a two-hour show leaving everyone with a song and a glow in their heart. This year's choirs included The Greater Victoria Police Chorus, Brentwood College Concert Choir, Ensemble Laude, the British Columbia Fiddle Orchestra, Brentwood College Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and Eric Dozier and the One Human Family Gospel Choir.  By the end of the day, an encouraging $2,000 was raised with all proceeds in support of the wonderful “Monday Morning Music” therapy program for special needs people in the Cowichan Valley, and bursaries for special needs children graduating from Cowichan Valley high schools.
As the producer of this event, I would like to thank the many people who come together each year in support of “Choirs in Concert” and its very special cause. Take a bow Brentwood College School, the media, the many choristers and directors, and of course the audience for your continued support.  You are all truly valued.
