Charity Work Day 2017

3 March 2017
Mr. Marius Felix
On Saturday, April 1st, Brentwood will roll up our sleeves, put our work clothes on, and head into our local community serve our neighbours and to raise funds for local organizations which depend on the generosity of others to help those in need. Charity Work Day embraces the belief that it is better to give than to receive. Research tell us that people who volunteer their time and effort to help those less fortunate develop greater empathy, increase their understanding of the true challenges some people have within a country that has so much, and feel good about how their efforts will make a difference to those less fortunate. I am always so impressed by the attitude our students have when Charity Work Day is looming. For veterans of the day, there is a "can do" attitude, which is an excellent example to the first year students in the school. Perhaps most satisfying is when the students return from their labours, tired but also satisfied they have done something in aid of others. Long may this continue!
