Charity Work Day 2017 1

5 April 2017
This past Saturday the Brentwood family mobilized almost 600 people for a day of community service here in the Cowichan Valley. In groups of half a dozen, accompanied by a faculty member, our students dispersed to 70 homes, farms, and yards to assist local residents in spring cleaning, building, gardening, and other assorted tasks. Under almost sunny skies, students spent the day getting to know, and serve, their neighbours. “I really enjoyed the day” said Virginia W, Mackenzie ‘18. “I came home a little sore, but I did a lot of hard work. It’s nice to know we can all make a positive difference.” Approximately $17,000 was raised by the student’s efforts. These finds will be passed on to several local charities to support their excellent efforts on behalf of the less fortunate in our valley.
