As the weather remains chilly and students have hit their peak of studying, Midterm Break comes around. Packing, cleaning, and finishing up tests and other enduring tasks may not be a students’ favourite way to spend their time, but knowing that there is a break right around the corner definitely helps.  Onyi O, says that she is “excited for midterm because I am able to rest in a different environment. It’s nice to get away from the Brentwood bubble every now and them”. For students who live not too far from the school, midterm is a great way to catch up with family and friends back home, as well as a great way to catch up on sleep. It is also a new and fun experience for international students, as most of them go to their local friends’ homes. International students are introduced to new and exciting cultures and places, exploring cities and towns outside of the Brentwood gates.  It can be very exciting to invite your fellow Brentonians into your homes, and include them into your family for a week, enjoying winter weather, good food, and good company. Midterm effectively represents Brentwood’s motto of grit and joy, as the grit of second term is almost over, and the joy of midterm are approaching. Ameera E, Allard ‘19
