It is time for “Take two” of Brentwood’s fondly named Camp Brentwood, or CB2 for short! Returning to campus late Monday and early Tuesday after a well-deserved Thanksgiving weekend, our students are once again in quarantine to promote a healthy community.

In an email sent by Deputy Head of School - Student Life, Mr Liam Sullivan, the expectations of this week were neatly laid out for everyone, making it easy to know what we all need to do in order to stay safe: “Similar to the first 14 days of our school year, we are implementing this strategy for several reasons. We want to be responsible to our nearby community of Mill Bay by limiting possible exposure to COVID 19. We also want to be as safe as possible on campus while not compromising our learning groups and house structure. As well, we want to enable the easiest possible contact tracing if we get a positive case on campus.”

Megan K, Allard ‘21 said, “It’s wonderful to be back on our beautiful campus and to see all of my friends again! I am very glad that Brentwood is doing lots to keep our community safe.”

As soon as they arrived on campus, all students went through the thermal scanners set up in the Foote Center and Crooks Hall. Health checks were completed, and our community seems happy and healthy as of this moment! We will remain on campus until Sunday, October 18 - assuming mitigation strategies are practiced and everyone stays vigilant in fighting off COVID 19.

Tony E, Whittall ‘21 told me, “As a day student, not too has much changed for me in terms of being able to go home. I had a very nice Thanksgiving Break though, and it’s great to hear what my friends got up to over the weekend as well! There will definitely be a lot to talk about this week, so I don’t mind not being able to leave campus.”

There is so much to look forward to in our return to this beautiful campus, and despite only being gone, for three days, from this place that many call home, it is wonderful to be back with our friends once again. I can’t wait to hear the stories of everyone’s family time during Thanksgiving and to share my own experiences as well!
