As it was the second weekend back for all the students at Brentwood after the winter break, it was, of course, time for an open house! With Allard being the first open house of 2017, the Grade 12s wanted it to be the most memorable and the best event possible.  The theme this year was Camp Allard: everyone showed up with their own personalized version of a camp outfit. This varied from shorts and a t-shirt with a baseball cap to a wetsuit! With great food and drinks like veggies, hot dogs and pop, people could hardly tell if they were at summer camp or in Allard House.  With lots of activities to chose from like a dance, a movie room, a board game room and a photo booth, no one was left without that good ol’ camp feeling. “Of course I'm biased being from Allard, but I really do think this was the best open house so far this school year” said Flavie B, Allard ‘17. Each and every hallway, common room, and open dorm room had a camp feeling with the awesome decorations the Allard girls put up. From cut out trees to live tree branches hanging on the wall, the decorations sure were not lacking.   Camp Allard offered the opportunity for students and staff for escape from the busy life of Brentwood for a few hours and to just have some camp fun. After camp had concluded for the night and our guests returned to their houses, the Allard House campers refused to let camp die out, as the first and second floor and part of the third floor still have the camp feeling left with the decorations. The Allard grads and house parents were extremely happy with the success of Camp Allard.  Emma H, Allard ‘18
