Bright Future for the Junior B Boys

20 March 2013
Our Junior B Boys Basketball team didn’t start the season as well as we wanted to. Composed of players who were new to basketball, we started our season with great determination to get better, but it’s tough because other schools do not have B teams so we have to play against other schools’ A teams. Our first two losses came because of inexperience, but we will eventually got better and better as we strove to improve with every practice and game.
When the first game started, they jumped out to an 8-2 lead. We started to use the pressure defense that Mr. Anderson taught us and got a few points back through 5 turnovers in the first quarter. The score didn’t reflect our improvements and efforts as we lost, 23-48, but it was still a valuable experience.
David S scored 8 points and was also a good source of rebounding, grabbing many crucial boards. Kevin L scored 4 points and had some great passes. Tom W made some impressive plays as a point guard with good vision.
The future looks bright. We continued to practice and work hard every day and we look forward to next year. Thanks to our coaches, Mr. Anderson and Mrs. Martin, for all of their hard work and enthusiasm.
David S, Whittall ’16
