Brentwood’s Got Talent

15 February 2022

What better way to kick off the first weekend back after Midterm at Brentwood than Java Hut. For those of you who could not make it - like Santi E, Whittall ‘22 who was too busy watching Euphoria - Crooks Hall was packed to the brim, excited to listen to a plethora of student performances.

After a lot of chatter, the crowd went silent as MCs Jay R, Alex ‘22 and Kieran K, Whittall ‘22 entered the stage. Everyone trembled with anticipation: what was going to be the first performance? A comedic skit, jazz rock band, or harmonized ensemble … no, a heart-touching solo.

And so the night began.

Each performance was unique and after every song the cafeteria rang with applause. Crowd favourite, Youto I, Whittall ‘24 found the applause “overwhelming and amazing.” He had performed his favourite Japanese song: Cherry (??????) by Spitz (??????) - in Japanese. Additionally, we had a brother-sister duo, a mesmerising trio, and many more out-of-this-world performances. “The musical talent on stage that night was something else” stated a teary-eyed Ms Rogers.

The night was wrapped up by Robin C, Alex ‘22, Ariel C, Privett ‘23 Jacob H, Privett ‘22, Zheng Y, Privett ‘24, and Steven G, Rogers ‘23 performing Paper Thin, and although there were no Yoda impersonations this year, everyone had an outstanding time.

Thanks to Ms Ramsey, Head of the SAC Anna D, Allard ‘22, Sophia P, Alex ‘22, Peju A, Allard ‘22, the food services staff, and the rest of the SAC for organizing such an entertaining and fun evening.
