Brentwood’s Finest

This past summer was a busy one for our current Assistant Head Prefect of Athletics, Jacob B. Team BC took the U18s to compete at the Westerns Canadian Championships in Manitoba where Jacob was scouted and invited to Canada’s national rugby camp. Jacob had a strong showing at camp, tearing up the pitch: he then earned a well-deserved roster spot. He will be traveling with the rest of Team Canada to San Diego to play in an international tournament against the United States on December 26th.

When asked about the opportunity, Jacob said, “I am extremely grateful to be representing not only my school but my country. The experience so far has been surreal but I know I still have to continue to work hard every day going into this tournament.”

Jacob’s style of play has been described as passionate, aggressive and determined. He is a hooker which means he is involved in every set piece, he tackles, and he is the first up ball carrier. Jacob brings great size and speed to an already very talented rugby team.

Jacob’s leadership in Brentwood Rugby over the past two years has been extraordinary. He raises the compete level every time he touches the pitch and has been a great ambassador for sports at Brentwood as the school’s Athletics Prefect. He exemplifies Grit and Joy as he spends uncountable hours in the new Foote Centre Gym and out on the pitch refining his game.

The entire Brentwood community would like to extend a huge congratulations to Jacob on this great achievement. We all look forward to watching him play and wish him the best of luck moving forward with his already successful rugby career.
