Brentwood's Bafa Bafa

19 November 2010
Grade 10 students in Marketing 11 and Global Studies 11 enjoyed a lively role playing game this week, organized by Mr. Tim Zenker, our visiting US universities counsellor, and distinguished teacher of AP History. The BaFa Bafa game involves students adopting cultural rules in one of two societies with radically different systems of behavior. Students then visit the other culture and try to work out the rules by which their hosts live. The results are both hilarious and highly thought provoking. Usually played to prepare students at the post-secondary level for immersion in an overseas experience, the BaFa BaFa game is sure to become a regular part of our Social Studies 10 enriched curriculum.
