Brentwood Students Top Annual Public Speaking Competition

On Saturday, seven members of the debate and public speaking class attended “The Westerns”, an annual public speaking competition at York House School in Vancouver. Yasyf M was at his extemporaneous best, taking first place in the impromptu category while Katie R placed third in the after-dinner division with her mock-serious protestation about vampire stereotypes. Subsequent to this, Katie competed in the Hector Macintosh competition in Duncan where she and schoolmate, Alia V advanced to the finals which will be held on May 17th.
