At present a number of Brentwood Girls rugby team grads are playing with skill and distinction at various universities. Sydney Black and Jennalee Desjardins are playing leading roles in the Kings University rugby side in the Atlantic conference in Nova Scotia. Both have been chosen to the the conference All-star team for the past three years. Rania Nafissah, after playing #8 or flanker at Bristol University for the past three seasons, is now taking a masters degree in chemistry at Manchester University in Lancashire. She is their starting #8 forward on a team which, at the beginning of February, had not lost a game in the English Universities league. Three more recent grads, Keira Haddow, Becca Holland and Alison Ukrainec, are now in medical school at St. Andrews in Scotland and are also making a name for themselves on the rugby field. The St. Andrews team beat Dundee University last week 15-12 to win the Scottish University league. They look forward to some more higher level competition with English universty sides. We hope that you join us in wishing them the best of luck in their most recent rugby endeavours.
