Brentwood Rowers Attend Rowing Canada Training Camp

13 January 2011
Over the Christmas holidays Grade 11 student Lance B left wintery Vancouver Island to row in the warmth of southern Florida.  Based on his November erg results, Lance was invited to the Rowing Canada U23/Junior development camp held in Orlando, Florida, where he trained for eight days with two three-hour practices each day. At the camp he was coached by UVic and Canadian coach Paul Hawksworth.Brentwood grad Quinn Erickson (2009) also attended the camp, and was coached by Phil Marshall of Rowing Canada and the Brockville Rowing Club. One purpose of the camp was to identify athletes for future national teams. Best of luck to Lance and Quinn!
Martin B, Grade 11, who rowed in Canada’s 4x at the Junior World Championships this last summer, was also invited to the camp, but was unable to attend. Deirdre H
