Brentwood SPARC member, Rianne P, was on a mission this spring to fill the blood bank with Brentwood blood--we're in a national high school competition! We currently have a 52.5% participation rate, with over 60 students participating in the program... with Rianne supporting them all the way! The clinic at the Shawnigan Lake Community Centre blocked off some Brentwood spots and anybody meeting the criteria was able to give blood and help save lives. The Student Peer Assistance Resource Counsellors (SPARC) are trained peer counsellors providing support and health/wellness education for their peers, while raising funds and awareness for those in need. Working with local organizations allows our students to be involved and engaged in the greater community through a number of school organizations. This past Thursday and Friday (March 25 and 26) Rianne counted up the donations and Brentwood students have saved over 228 lives in 4 blood drives! This is a wonderful achievement. Anyone donating, in any community, can ask to put their donation toward the Young Blood For Life National High School Challenge under Brentwood College School. For more information please call 1-888-2DONATE  or visit www.blood.ca.
