The Brentwood Hockey program enjoyed a fun and developmental year during the ‘19-’20 season. With the majority of last year's team having graduated, there were many spots to fill and opportunities to explore. The boatload of new grade 10s compiled the majority of the senior team, and they did not fall short of the mark.

The Senior team battled hard the entire season, playing against Kelsey, Shawnigan, and Cowichan multiple times. The team's hard work earned them a chance at the league title, playing against Cowichan in a pivotal away game. The team battled hard but could not quite edge out the strong Cowichan side.

The annual Saville Cup versus St. George’s was definitely another highlight. Playing against a very high caliber of competition was definitely a challenge, but it was a great learning experience to prepare us for the Ross Cup.

The second squad team featured players from a variety of hockey backgrounds, including many experienced players who will soon be knocking on the door of the senior team. These players were accompanied by beginners who made great progress in their development and discovered a love for hockey through their involvement in the program.

Brentwood's Junior and Senior teams acquitted themselves well in the annual Ross Cup. Both squads practiced hard all season to host this tournament, and this paid off. The improvements of both teams from the beginning to the end of the season was evident as they played against tough competition with some great results.

The Brentwood-Shawnigan “Shawood” girls’ team had a very successful season and built many great relationships. This diverse group of girls dug deep every game and were determined to improve upon their skills and knowledge of the game.

The program would like to thank the entire coaching staff for such a fun and skill-building season. It was a great year for the Brentwood Hockey program: the future looks very bright for this young team.
