Brentwood Flautist Heads to Nationals
Michael O, who has wowed crowds in the Bunch Theatre with his virtuoso flute and piano repertoire, took his show on the road this week and was crowned Provincial Champion in Kamloops. Competing in the Senior Division (though he is still a junior) Michael “MacGyver” O had to overcome a leaky key which he and a fellow competitor fixed shortly before his performance.
Michael was also invited to perform in the finalist concert where, no doubt, he hit all the right notes. Michael will represent British Columbia at the Nationals in Nova Scotia in August. As part of his fine arts programme, Michael also performs with the school’s pop orchestra and jazz band.
