This past weekend, the Brentwood College club volleyball team won their first Super Series tournament featuring 48 of the top girls club programs in the province. The team finished first in their pool play with solid matches against Kelowna, British Columbia Olympics and last year's national champions Coquitlam Ducks. Mariya Young did a superb job quarterbacking the Brentwood offence and Stef Kelly showed some great finesse in the front row. On day two, Brentwood beat Action Impact and then Nanaimo Volleyball in the quarterfinals in straight sets. The team then met British Columbia Olympics in the semi-finals and cruised to victory with scores of 25-13, 25-17. In the final, Brentwood played Coquitlam Ducks again, coming out on top 15-25, 25-20 and 15-10. Megan Jackson was solid on the power side and put away some nice hits. Danica Lagasse engineered a brilliant tactical offence and was instrumental in the team's eventual success.
