Brentwood Clips Kelsey

Brentwood’s First Hockey team took on Kelsey on Monday afternoon. It was the boys’ first game back after a well-deserved Christmas break and everyone was excited to get back on the ice and into rhythm.  The last time the two teams met, Kelsey got the better end of the draw and ended up beating us by the score of 4-2 so the team had a lot to prove to both themselves and their opponents.  The game didn’t start off well as Brentwood fell to an early Kelsey goal, but Captain Mason S, Privett ‘18 got Brentwood on the board with a nice breakaway goal to tie the game. Shortly after the game was tied, Kelsey once again retook the lead and although the chances were there for the Brentwood side, we couldn’t find the back of the net.  Finally, in the third period Lanny L, Ellis ‘18 buried a rebound out front to tie the game. Shortly after that Xander A, Whittall ‘17 converted on a breakaway to put Brentwood out front. The boys held on and ended up redeeming themselves in a 3-2 win over Kelsey. It was a good start to a new year of shinny in Mill Bay.
