CIBC Run for the Cure is not only an event for all of Canada, but also an annual event to remember in the Brentwood community. The run focusses on fundraising and supporting the research for breast cancer as well as the many survivors and people involved.  Although the run took place in 56 locations across Canada, we all ran together as a team for a cure. The Brentwood Busts Cancer team supported the event with enthusiasm this past Sunday despite the chillier weather. Erika AC, Hope ‘19 raised an astonishing $3,000, which was a significant contribution to the $216,000 that the Victoria run raised.  Cancer has impacted many Canadians, as well as many of the students, parents and staff at Brentwood. On Sunday, everyone ran together as a team with the ambition to make a change. When Marquita Z, Alexandra ‘19, SPARC Captain, was asked what she loved about it she replied “I really love Run for the Cure because it’s an event that shows a lot of vulnerability in people. Almost all of us have someone close to us who’s been affected by cancer. This event lets us connect and aid a community so much bigger than ourselves. It is truly humbling to see how many people show up, rain or shine, to walk alongside not only survivors but those who are still fighting.” It was a truly an inspiring day hearing the stories of the survivors and feeling all of the positive energy that radiates off of them. Thanks to Mr Barrett, all of the other organizers, and the 50+ Brentwood students whose efforts made this a terrific event. Hannah C, Alexandra ‘19
