Brentwood 7, Frances Kelsey 0

The Senior Boys Soccer team gave a strong, and perhaps their season’s best, performance in their league match against local rivals Frances Kelsey School on Tuesday, Oct 8th. Right from the first whistle, the team showed lots of speed and desire to win the ball and to go forward. Creating many early chances, but not scoring, did not take the steam out of our attack. We kept penetrating their defence with some well-worked moves. Meanwhile, our backline was rarely troubled and our goalkeeper, Jackson H, only touched the ball three times in the half. Our superiority in every area of the field finally paid off as the goals started to come. Our first was from the penalty spot, followed by two well-created goals, giving us a 3-0 lead at half-time. In the second half, with the game seemingly in hand, more exciting chances were created and some very pretty goals were scored, with Keaton S notching a hat-trick via a blazing shot from 20 metres. With a key game against Cowichan S.S. on Thursday, lots of substitutions were made to keep our legs fresh for Thursday’s fixture. At one time, we even had three mid-field players playing in the defense, and two strikers playing in mid-field – a testament to our overall team strength. Even with these changes, we hardly missed a beat and kept on scoring. The final tally was 7-0 to Brentwood. Goals were scored by  Keaton S with 3 and singles by  Tom S Philip M, Reid A, & Josh S while Jackson H earned the shutout. Mr. John Garvey, Coach
