BC Soccer Championships
It was a tough weekend for the three Brentonians who competed at the BC Soccer Premier Cup Championships in Richmond in late June. Sebastian Magana, Jensa NG, and Jai S each collected silver medals as their teams were defeated by one-goal margins.
Sebastian's next soccer will be tryouts with the UBC Thunderbirds in early August alongside ‘21 alumnus Jack Napier-Ganley while Jensa is currently with the Victoria Highlanders in BC League One and Jay will need to stay in form as he qualified for the National Championships in Surrey over the Thanksgiving Weekend.
The Golden moment came, however, from a FUTURE Brentonian!
Ryder R, who will join the Grade 9 class in September, captured GOLD on as his U14 Vancouver Island Wave earned the victory. And Ryder was coached by Brentwood alum Jordan De Graaf.
Ryder is from athletic stock as his sister, Novella, earned CSSRA Gold for Brentwood in both the Jr 4+ and 8+ last month. Novella is currently training to race the 1x at the BC Summer Games in Prince George July 21-24. Ms Katrina Wittenberg will be coaching at the event. Anya P, Mack '25 will also row at the Games.
