Bard at the Beach

28 September 2010
This past Friday, 37 students from Mr. Collis’ Grade 11AP English classes, led by the Great Collisimo and Mrs. Day Reynolds, travelled to Vancouver to take in a performance of Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” at The Bard on the Beach in Kitsilano’s Vanier Park. The play was a modern interpretation of one of Shakespeare’s most famous comedies and it drew the crowd into the play and the world of Shakespeare with ease. The comedy features two pairs of lovers (Claudio and Hero, Benedict and Beatrice) who are all tricked into confessing their love for each other by their friends. They eventually marry and live their lives in happiness. Although Friday was a day of rain, the actors did a brilliant job in their final matinee performance of the season, and had great audience appreciation, including a standing ovation. Oliver O
