Back to the Future: An Admissions Blog

Wednesday, September 07, 2016 - By: Crystal Lenarcic, Admissions

Yesterday was the day that all of the new students arrived at Brentwood with their families and, aside from Closing Day, it is one of the most emotional days of the entire year. Feelings of excitement, fear, happiness, nervousness and a bit of sadness were all felt by our new students as they acquainted themselves with their new Brentwood family and waved goodbye to their family from home.

It was the day that our Admissions team could enjoy bringing together the amazing students that we have met throughout the year. Today, we had the pleasure of being the familiar face that hopefully comforted nervous parents and students as they navigated their way into their boarding houses and around the school.

In Admissions, we are always working for the future - the 2017-18 school year is now the year for which our work will primarily exist. Yesterday, however, we put the future on hold while we welcomed our 2016-17 Brentwood families.

Tomorrow, the new students will be two full day immersed into being part of the Brentwood family. They will find comfort in the new friends they have made as well as with the houseparents, faculty and staffy who will care for them endlessly.

Tomorrow the Admissions team will return to our work of filling the school for the 2017-18 school year. Tomorrow, Admissions will be “Back to the Future”.
