Back to Back Mid-Island Champs

This past Tuesday our Jr Girls A and B Volleyball teams competed at the Mid-Island Championships right on their home court.

The girls started out their Tuesday with an exciting game against each other! “A” team took home the first set, however, the “B” team did not give up and battled right until the end taking the second set. The game went into a third set and that’s when Co-Captain of the “A”  team, Sasha B, Allard ‘22 served our way to victory.

Both teams then went on to play the Lake Cowichan’s Lakers. Brentwood “B” played a very close game where the girls showed their competitive side and lost with their heads held up high. Brentwood “A” showed their strength by winning both of their sets by more than 16 points, placing them first in their pool!

To finish the day off strongly Brentwood “B” had a very tough three-set game against Frances Kelsey, but came through with an amazing win! Brentwood  “A” then won their semi-final game against GISS getting them ready to face off against Cowichan High for the top spot! “We’ve played them before and went into a third set, so it should be an exciting game,” said Head Coach Mr Minkler before the big finale. However, as soon as the team stepped foot on that court, they were determined to win, and proved that by bringing home the big W, winning both of their sets by a disparity! Back to back Mid-Island Champs!

Big congratulations to all the girls who played in the tournament; both teams showed great determination and represented Brentwood very well!
