Arts Review May

Wednesday, June 01, 2016 - By: Edna Widenmaier

After a robust and active performing arts year, we come to our final Showcase -  number six - in our calendar of performances open to parents and public at the Bunch, our Concert for a Summer’s Eve. This annual cornucopia of music features performances by our award-winning choirs, instrumental ensembles and vocal groups, plus soloists.

Our featured performances tend to be our graduating students in their final appearance on the Killy Stage. From jazz to swing, Bach to Bachman, the range of music reflects the various focus of each of the programmes. All proceeds from this concert will go to the Choirs in Concert for the Children: a music programme for disadvantaged children in the Cowichan Valley. You can book on-line at  Tickets for the Thursday, June 2 & Friday, June 3 performances (7:30 curtain) are $10. Seating is Festival. Box office inquiries at 250-743-8756.

Dates to mark in your calendar: we have secured the rights to do the quintessential musical Mary Poppins and the 2016-2017 musical theatre students are very excited. We will run the show for five nights in 2017, February 28 through March 4. Tickets will go on sale online in December.
