21st century learning revolves around collaboration. Because students can quickly access information, more emphasis is being placed on what they do with that information to look at developing critical thinking, creativity and communication skills. To that end, Brentwood College School recognized the need for more collaborative spaces for students to congregate to work on projects, share ideas, and “break out” during class time. The third floor of the Ross Building had the perfect space and a new collaborative area has been created. Students are gravitating towards the new space where they have three different options in the types of seating and movable whiteboards to work out ideas. We are asking students for feedback on how they’re using the space as we plan for more break out spaces on campus.
