As Term 2 sports at Brentwood came to an end, the final term of sport sprung into action quite smoothly. Indoor sports were replaced with outdoor sports as students made the transition from a cool winter to a warm spring. Everybody is hopeful that the school will be able to enjoy a full term of spring sport - last year it was cut short by the pandemic.

Among the offerings in the spring are Basketball, Climbing, Cross Country, Cross Training, Dynamic Yoga, Learn to Row, Outdoor Pursuits, Rugby, Squash, Tennis, and Varsity Rowing. Along with those, Soccer and Strength and Conditioning are also available for the girls.

There are also a few sports that are offered throughout the whole school year and those are Basketball, Rowing, Tennis, Squash, Cross Country, and Yoga. Each sport at Brentwood has a competitive term but unfortunately due to COVID-19 all of those seasons have been cancelled. Everyone is hoping that sports at Brentwood will return to normal by the start of the 2021-2022 school year.

Director of Athletics Mr Gage says “Sport rocks and I am so grateful to see all of Brentwood’s students engaged in some form of athletic activity three days a week.” Multi sport athlete Ifeanyi A, Whittall ‘21 says “I love how Brentwood conducts the sports program which allows me to enjoy each of my three favorite sports throughout the school year while also seeing my fellow students doing what they love.”

The athletic portion of Brentwood’s education has looked much different this year but that has not stopped the school community from enjoying two successful terms of physical activity. Fingers are crossed that the final term runs just as smoothly as the last couple and that the coronavirus situation continues to improve!
